| An editorial in the November 15 edition of the
Washington Post:
IN THE NAME of maintaining reliable electricity supplies, business groups are urging Congress to include in end-of-session legislation language that could weaken enforcement of an entire section of the Clean Air Act. The complete editorial from the Washington Post can be found at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/WPlate/1999-11/15/000l-111599-idx.html A key person, Chairman C. W. "Bill" Young, R-FL, Chairman of the Appropriations Committee may be trying to add a rider which would allow utilities to continue to pollute. Visit Congressman Young's Homepage or Go to Committee on Appropriations . This could happen any time, so please either Call his office in Washington at: 225-5961, fax him at 202-225-9764 in DC, or call his Florida office at 727- 581-0980 and tell him we need more protection, companies that pollute should pay the fines imposed on them by the EPA, or anything else simple but to the point. Contact all your friends to do the same, at once-this is important. Chairman Young's Mailing Addresses: Congressman Bill Young Congressman Bill Young Congressman Bill Young |
