On September 13th-14th, 2001, the FDA had
planned to meet in order to discuss whether or not ALL chronic
pain patients would continue to be allowed to receive opiate
pain medication from their doctors. This meeting is very
important to the chronic pain community as a whole, and could
have a huge impact on our quality of life if the FDA decides
that ONLY terminal cancer patients will be allowed the use of
opiate pain medications to treat their pain. Click
